Albaugh today announced that the company has received U.S. Environmental Protection Agency registration for Riceprole™ 5L ST (EPA Reg. No. 45002-68), a new seed treatment offering that will be available for sale in Mid-South rice, beginning in late 2026.
Riceprole™ 5L ST contains the active ingredient chlorantraniliprole, a systemic insecticide with a novel mode of action that is translocated throughout the developing plant. It provides protection against injury from rice water weevil larvae, as well as delivering early- to mid-season control of Mexican rice borer, rice stalk borer, and sugarcane borer. The product delivers rapid feeding cessation and long-lasting protection at low use rates and has demonstrated excellent seed safety.

Riceprole™ 5L ST will be available for use in Mid-South rice. Riceprole™ 5L ST is not registered for use in California.
