Lufenuron is an inhibitor of chitin synthesis, type 0 or action in Lepidoptera, resulting in the non-formation of cuticle and exoskeleton after the insect molts from one instigate to the next. The pathway and/or enzyme(s) on which it acts is not known. It belongs to group 15 of the Action Committee against Insecticide Resistance – IRAC.
