95% of Albaugh EMEA Products Are Produced in the EU: It’s How We Stay Close to the Fields We Serve

Across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), farming is shaped by changing seasons, unpredictable weather, shifting regulations, and evolving market pressures. In an environment where so much can’t be controlled, one thing should be certain: the reliability of the tools farmers depend on.

At Albaugh, that reliability begins with proximity.

Today, 95% of Albaugh EMEA products are produced within the European Union (EU), primarily in our facilities in Slovenia and Spain. This commitment is not just a manufacturing decision, but a strategic, long-term approach to staying close to the fields we serve and ensuring that growers have the confidence, consistency, and support they need every season.

Built Closer to Farmers

Albaugh’s story in EMEA is rooted in growth and integration. Over the past decade, three established companies, namely Pinus, Rotam, and Afrasa, came together under one purpose: to offer farmers more choice in crop protection. Each organization brought its own technical expertise, regional knowledge, and decades of experience, forming a single, unified Albaugh built on reliability, innovation, and accessibility.

But joining forces was only the beginning. What truly transformed the business was Albaugh’s decision to strengthen its local footprint: to produce where farmers grow, to develop where partners operate, and to supply from the regions that rely on us most.

The Value of Local Production

Manufacturing crop protection products in the EU is about more than logistics. It enables a level of quality control, responsiveness, and understanding that is only possible when operations and markets are closely linked.

By keeping our production and formulation processes in-house across Slovenia and Spain, Albaugh can:

  • Maintain consistent quality across all stages of development
  • Adjust production according to seasonal and regional needs
  • Ensure stable supply even during periods of market disruption
  • Support partners and growers with dependable service

This approach strengthens every step of the journey, from initial formulation, to testing, to final delivery.

Slovenia: Tradition Strengthened by Technology

Our facility in Rače, Slovenia, originally established in 1888, represents the balance between heritage and modernization. Since merging with Albaugh in 2015, it has evolved into a modern, 24/7 formulation and packaging center, equipped to handle multiple formulation types and supported by extensive warehousing capacity.

Its long history provides a solid foundation; Albaugh’s investments and upgrades give it forward momentum. Together, they allow us to deliver reliable, high-quality products right where farmers need them.

Spain: A Strategic Hub for Southern Europe and North Africa

In Valencia, our Southern Europe production center operates at the crossroads of agriculture and efficient logistics. With flexible formulation assets, strong warehouse capabilities, and access to key transport networks, this site supports both Southern Europe and North Africa with speed, consistency, and precision.

Its strategic position ensures that growers in these regions receive timely access to essential crop protection solutions, which is a critical advantage in agriculture, where every day matters.

Where Confidence Begins: Albaugh Laboratories

A product’s journey begins long before it reaches the field. Albaugh’s laboratories in Slovenia, Valencia, and China are dedicated to developing and refining formulations that meet the realities of European agriculture.

Our teams work to ensure that every Albaugh product is tested, validated, and tailored for actual farming conditions. Through GEP field trials and GLP laboratory studies conducted across Europe, prototypes are assessed for stability, safety, and performance long before they reach a farmer’s hands.

This rigorous process ensures that Albaugh solutions are not only effective in principle, but ultimately reliable in practice.

A Technical Partner in Every Season

Being close to the market means more than physical infrastructure. It also means providing knowledge, support, and guidance that farmers can apply directly in their fields.

Albaugh teams across EMEA collaborate with growers and distributors to design programs suited to local crops, climates, and challenges. This partnership-driven approach helps farmers navigate uncertainty, protect yield potential, and make informed decisions throughout the season.

With Albaugh, partners gain not just products, but a team dedicated to practical, field-ready solutions.

Made in Europe, For the Fields of Europe

When 95% of our regional portfolio is produced within the EU, growers gain something invaluable: trust.

Trust that products will arrive on time.

Trust that quality is monitored at every step.

Trust that their supplier understands the realities of their fields.

This is what it means to stay close to the people we serve.

Albaugh’s manufacturing strategy is not just operational, but a commitment to the regions that rely on us. By producing locally, validating rigorously, and partnering openly, we ensure that farmers have better access to the alternatives they need: flexible, reliable, and built on a foundation of long-term sustainability.

Albaugh was founded by a farmer who understood the same weather, soil, and seasons that shaped the decisions of his fellow farmers. And that’s how we stay close to the fields and farmers we serve: by making our products in Europe, for the fields of Europe.
