It is a systemic post-emergent selective herbicide for the control of annual and perennial grass weeds. It does not control broadleaf weeds or sedges. Cletodim is rapidly absorbed by the foliage and translocated by phloem and xylem, accumulating in the meristematic regions of the leaves, stems and roots; causing a rapid arrest of weed growth. In 3-4 days chlorosis of weeds and death of meristematic tissues occurs. Then the tissues are destroyed, a reddish to purple coloration appears and finally the death of weeds occurs. The total action takes between 7-14 days. Cletodim inhibits the enzyme ACCase (Acetyl CoA carboxylase), responsible for the synthesis of fatty acids in grass species. registered in SENASA with N°: 38.231
